Before we begin any treatment, we’ll discuss your dental history and provide a full examination (which may include x-rays) to determine the best course of action. 

Need temporary relief for a severe toothache?

While waiting to see our dental emergency care team, here are a few tips to help you find temporary relief: 

  • Rinse your mouth with warm, salty water
  • Use dental floss to remove any debris from around the painful tooth
  • Take the recommended dosage of paracetamol or ibuprofen (do not use aspirin)
  • If there is swelling, apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek
